The first six pages
Noah and the Moon Who Couldn't Sleep is a 12-page crayon doodle picture book. Here is how it opens.
The cover. Noah and the Moon Who Couldn't Sleep, starring Noah, 4, and his toy bunny Bun-Bun.
Page 3. Noah loved his cozy bed, soft and warm with little stars on his pajamas. Bun-Bun sat close by, floppy ears tucked in. Outside the window, the sky glowed with a thousand twinkling stars.
Page 4. But look—there was the Moon, round and glowing, rubbing sleepy eyes. He yawned a great big yawn, yet his eyes stayed open wide. The Moon just could not fall asleep.
Page 5. Noah pressed his nose to the glass. 'Are you sleepy, Moon?' he whispered. The Moon nodded slow and soft. 'I want to sleep,' he sighed, 'but I don't know how.'
Page 6. Noah took Bun-Bun's paw. A soft, fluffy cloud floated close to the window. Up, up they climbed, gentle and slow, sailing through the quiet night sky to help their new friend.
Page 7. Hello, Moon,' said Noah softly, landing beside him on the cloud. Bun-Bun gave a floppy wave. The Moon smiled a tired, rosy-cheeked smile. 'Will you help me?' he asked.
